Hyatt Regency Creek Wedding – Nouf & Ali

As the only arabic song I had saved on my phone started playing, she took his hands into hers and slowly swung. He smiled at her with so much love that, I won’t lie, I got lost in the moment myself.

Within seconds I collected myself and snapped few shots. “Aliiiii… have to do at least one move” I told him. “La la la la la la….no no no no no no…” he replied back without taking a breath. We all laughed including him. The gorgeous Nouf smiled wide and took a full swing in her gorgeous dress, holding his hands, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching how he balanced her and helped her come right back to him. Supportingly. Happily. With Love.

Nouf & Ali celebrated their wedding in Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights hotel. Her stage / kosha and ballroom were decorated by Sayedati Wedding. The super cute cake by Mimoza Cakes added sweetness to the day. Nouf looked breathtaking in her bridal gown by Hazar Fashion, shoes from Sarah Jessica Parker, and carried a violet bouquet by Fiore Designs.

Dearest Nouf & Ali,

Thank you so much for inviting me and letting me document your night full of laughter, fun, and love. Nouf, your bubbly personality is so sparkly that it can light up an entire room. Ali, you are a kind and welcoming person who can easily make friends even if you are meeting them for the first time. I pray that Allah keeps you both healthy, happy, sparkly, and always laughing at each other’s silly jokes, forever.

Much appreciation,
~ Rima

Uptown Mirdif Engagement – Fatma & Yaqoub

She was smiling as usual despite her nervousness. I hugged her and told her that she need not to worry because she looks stunning. She truly did. In her light purple gown, Menbur shoes, and holding her bouquet – she looked even more beautiful.

I had been waiting for this day…
Fatma’s engagement was one of those parties I was enthusiastically anticipating since I met her. This always-smiling girl with a bubbly personality is an absolute pleasure to hang out with. Never a dull moment with her and I just couldn’t wait to meet who will be the lucky man. Her lucky man.

Yaqoub seemed swayed away by her beauty. And of course by her smile. He couldn’t stop smiling himself. Happy to know that his life was about to be lit up by Fatma’s beaming smile.

Fatma & Yaqoub got engaged in Uptown Mirdif, Dubai. I was in love with all the party decorations. From the love quote by the entrance and her jewelry display, to hanging flowers in tiny buckets, wooden tables, white roses in small vases, party-favors of tea leaves in tubes and mouth-watering brownies, every detail was thoughtfully put together.

Dearest Fatma & Yaqoub,

You guys are simply oh-so-awesome! Seriously. I thoroughly enjoyed photographing both of you, both sides of the families & friends, and your party details. I’m super duper excited to see what both of you are planning for your wedding. I’m sure it’ll be full of details, joys, lots of dancing, and sparkling-broad-smiles 😉

With utmost adoration,

InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Wedding – Khalid & Aysha

She was on top of her game.
Way before the wedding, we hung out for a casual coffee and she told me that she was done with all the wedding planning. Everything was checked off the list. I was both surprised and impressed at the same time. Only if I knew that it was just a small portion of surprise….because her wedding day was jaw-droppingly surprise-fully beautiful (I mean it in every way possible).

Aysha is an absolute sweetheart. Confident, poised, caring, full of style, and a walking talking example of grace. I was thrilled to see what she had been planning for her wedding because I knew she wouldn’t settle for ordinary. More than that, I was excited to meet her lucky man, Khalid.

Khalid was absolutely what I imagined a soul mate for Aysha to be. With a confident walk, friendly smile, caring and respectful nature, and eyes with so much care & love for her that I felt short of breath (& words). They looked perfect together. Like moon & moonlight, flower & fragrance, heart & heartbeat. Incomplete without the other half. Giving a meaning to each other’s presence.

Aysha & Khalid’s wedding was celebrated with lots of dancing & love at InterContinental Hotel, Festival City Dubai. Haifa Al Marri from Afkar Events used a unique combination of blue, yellow, & white & real Calla Lillies to decorate their kosha/stage & the ballroom. Aysha opted for  a stunning bridal gown from Esposa, shoes from Gina, and a bouquet by Crochet Flowers.

Dearest Aysha & Khalid,

Thank you, thank you, thank you. For being who you are, the way you are, amongst yourself and to others. I feel incredibly grateful for meeting you two and for the opportunity to document both of you on your wedding day. I absolutely adore you two and wish you both a life full of happiness, success, health, and impeccable love.

Stay Fabulous,
~ Rima

Dubai, UAE – Wedding Inspiration

As a creative, my soul craves art. And inspiration.
Looking at art is one thing but creating it feeds my soul.
Without any pressure of the outcome, it feels great to create something just for the sake of creation. To test new horizons. To see the capabilities. To overcome the boundaries and limits. When 2016 started, I promised myself to make time for things that have been pending and a styled shoot was certainly on the top of the list.

I feel so very grateful for the team of creatives who brought my vision to life….

Makeup:  Maryam B.
Hair: Matilda
Dress:  Contessa, Dubai

Here is a video trailer from the shoot.

Grand Hyatt, Dubai Wedding – Mohamed & Maryam Z.

Her thoughts were free to go anywhere.
But it was surprising how they were constantly directed towards him.
Thinking of him (& wanting him to see her as the bride) was making her smile.

She was smiling even when she was annoyed about something over the phone.
As soon as she put the phone down, the entire room bursted into laughter. Including her. That’s what love does to people. Taking them away from the sadness & making them happy. And hopeful. I could totally predict that Mohamed was just as anxious and excited to see her as she was.

As they exchanged first look, I was captivated by their calmness and assurance of their choice.  The room felt quite – under a love-spell as they stood in front of each other – except for the sound of the camera shutters. As if the entire universe was watching them speak through their eyes and smiles…..making promises of a lifetime.

Maryam & Mohamed got married at Grand Hyatt, Dubai. Their kosha/stage was decorated by Klassna Events. Maryam looked stunning in her wedding gown from Ezra Couture, shoes from Manolo Blahnik, and a beautiful bouquet of real flowers from Crochet.

Since M&M were going to Japan for honeymoon, Maryam got these adorable Japanese dolls as props. I absolutely lovedddddddddd them.

I call them Mr. & Mrs. Coffee Lovers…

M&M – together as one!

Dearest Mohamed & Maryam,

Life is a beautiful thing. May yours be bloomed even more by each others’ love. May you always find each other by your side in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health – be the reason of each other’s smile as you were on your first day as husband and wife. May you both live a long healthy life & always love each other in all days of it. Forever…

Grand Hyatt, Dubai Wedding – Ali & Dhuha

Fumbling with the locks, she seemed to be struggling with the jewelry as I photographed her getting ready. I mean, it wasn’t easy trying to protect the manicured nails. He politely came to the rescue and not only did he manage to open the necklace’s lock for her but also put it on her.

It was such an awwww… moment. Without wasting a second, I clicked through and was able to preserve their ‘moment’.  The best thing was it wasn’t just a moment, he helped her open the locks for the bracelet and earrings as well without her even asking. ‘He’s a keeper’ I thought to myself and of course smiled while clicking through their momentS.

Dhuha wore a customized bridal gown by Hazar and opted for a dull gold shoes by Manolo Blahnik.  She looked immensely stunning. Ali couldn’t help but smile while trying to peek glances at her. Their beautiful wedding was celebrated at Baniyas Ballroom in  Grand Hyatt, Dubai.  The ballroom was decorated with tons of pink and white details and five types of centerpieces.

Dearest Ali & Dhuha,

I adoreeeeeeeeeee you both. And your families too. Documenting both of you was an experience full of awwww moments. I pray that the Almighty showers you both with the utmost blessings. May you both help each other through thicks and thins of life, love and take care of each other meticulously, create and cherish a life full of moments, ameen.

Much love,
~ Rima

Life is too Short

“I love reading your blogs. How do you get time for them though…?!?
A friend of mine – who works for a photography studio as a manager- asked me this question at a wedding summit we both were attending in Dubai.

I said with a smile “I make time for it.”

When you do something you love (in my case – photography & writing), you just make time for it. Or better yet, you should make time for it. Running a successful studio by myself, following up with past clients, meeting new ones, emailing enquiries, album deliveries, managing social media along with being a housewife is not easy. Not easy at all!

I love my business from the core of my heart but it doesn’t mean I don’t make time to read books, to watch television, travel the world, update my blog, or simple things as catching up with my family back home. I chose to be an entrepreneur so I don’t have to wake up at 6 am, get ready, work tirelessly and make money for someone else. I chose to be an entrepreneur so I’m able to do things that I love.

Do-What-you-Love_Dubai_Wedding_Female_Photographer_UAE_Rima_Hassan_0021If you feel like your work is taking over your life then take some time to think. Take sometime out for yourself to do things you love. If you can incorporate the things you love into your business, its a win-win situation. Remember why you are doing whatever you are doing and always remember who it is for!

Life is too short to hold back on – anything!

Engagement in Markaz Al Rasool – Fatma & Mohammed

I have been wanting to blog this engagement ever since I transferred the files on my computer.

With tons of decoration details to die for, I was head over heels in love with her jewelry designs because they were unique. My personal favorite was the gift for the groom, a Versace pen. Not a usual gift I get to photograph.

Fatma & Mohammed got engaged / nikka-ed / milcha-fied at Markaz al Rasool hall in Dubai. Fatma looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous pink dress and her glowed even more after she put the jewelry on. Mohammed couldn’t take his eyes off of his soulmate…

Ringing in the new year, their family and friends surrounded both sweethearts and celebrated their engagement party. New hopes were found, juices were toasted, promises of being together through ups and downs of life were made, and love was in the air.

Dear Fatma & Mohammed,

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your big day. I had immense fun documenting both of you, your love, and loved ones. May you both love each other devotedly, fulfill your promises, and start each year with double celebrations – for both the new year and your engagement.

Wedding in Grand Hyatt, Dubai – Mahra & Bashir

From the moment I entered the bridal suite to the minute I left, every second of being in Mahra’s lively presence was a pleasure.

I was absolutely smitten by her style & thoughtfulness (and her love for perfumes). From choosing a gorgeous black kosha/stage, cleverly giving hints of bright red with flowers, centerpieces, shoes, bouquet, to lipstick, she was on top of her game.

Without overdoing anything, she was able to mesmerized every guest by her beauty and style. And her bright white smile. Even Bashir, the quite yet poised groom couldn’t hide the gleam in his eyes when he saw Mahra as a bride…

Their beautiful wedding was celebrated at Grand Hyatt, Dubai and the ballroom was decorated by the very talented Eissa Hakim. Mahra personality reflected in every peace of jewelry she picked for her wedding. Her beauty was enhanced by the very talented makeup artist Ayesha Bahraini and hair by Amy. She totally rocked her bridal gown designed by Michael Cinco and bright red Louis Vuitton shoes.

Dearest Mahra & Bashir,

I feel beyond honored for being able to document your first day as husband and wife. The planning process, jokes that we laughed at, and some unforgettable moments shared together are things I will always cherish. May Allah showers you both with his blessings, gives you all the happiness in the world, and increase the love you two share – exponentially…

Much love,

Wedding in Rotana Beach Hotel, Abu Dhabi – Mariam & Matar

The bridal suite’s bell rung followed by a man screaming something in Arabic outside the room as I photographed the beautiful bride’s formals. I looked at my assistant with shock as to who it might be. Within split of a second, the bride said something back in Arabic out loud and our heads turned back to the bride in shock. Both of them started laughing.

In that moment, I knew that the chemistry & understanding they shared can’t be stopped by closed door. Being on the opposite sides of anything didn’t matter. They were one. Meant to be together….

Mariam is the girl who believe in details. Her wedding was full of details which Mariam spent months of planning and collecting from several countries. With gorgeous display for her jewelry to hand-writing a personal message in Arabic on those displays, she made sure her love for Matar is expressed with its full intensity.

Mariam & Matar’s wedding was celebrated at Beach Rotana Hotel, Abu Dhabi and was decorated by Dream Wedding Services. Mariam was beautified by the very talented Asya Shah.  Mariam looked stunning in her custom made gown from KSA, Chanel shoes, and her beautiful bouquet/maska from Fiore Design provided a gorgeous pop of colors in the photos.

Dear Mariam & Matar,

Shukran (thank you!). I know these are two very simple and overly used words but I said it in Arabic because you said words are more powerful when said in Arabic. You two are perfect – both individually & together. I had super much fun meeting both of you behind my camera, sharing the joys with your family, and it was my honor to document your wedding. May you keep sharing hand-written notes, out-loud-yet-secret-jokes, and eternal love.

Much appreciation,
~ Rima
