She was so precise with the directions.
“Look down. Gorgeous. Smile!” I said while standing on top of her sofa trying to take her beauty shot.
“I smile big or small?” She looked up & asked me with all her innocence. A bride never asked me that. Startled by her question, I said “Medium!” Next thing, the bride, groom, my assistant, & I were all bursted into laughter.
Khadija, the fun-cheerful-bubbly bride, had me laughing unstoppably even when we met to sign the contract. Although her engagement party was suppose to be my sixth event photographing for her family, this was the first time I actually got to sit down and speak to her without worrying about time constraints.
I was thrilled for her engagement as the date approached because as long as I’ve known her family, I knew the sufrah would be full of details. Sure as I was, Khadija’s sister decorated the sufrah with love, keen attention to details, and totally exceeded my expectations. I was surprised to find out that I knew half of Yousef’s family too as I photographed his cousins’ weddings as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed photographing Khadija & Yousef. They were like two peas in a pod. Lost in their own world, they shared jokes, whispers, & love. Their love was so transmissible, that everyone who came closer to them left happier.

Yousef & Khadija,
Thank you for including me as a witness of your love. Your love is like a single soul inhabiting two bodies. Khadija, I feel honored to photograph your laugh as Yousef showed his skills in cracking jokes. Your families showered me with welcoming hugs & I couldn’t thank you enough for being the reason behind all the love. May Allah showers his endless blessings upon both of you, keep you both happy & deeply in love, ameen.
Much appreciation,
~ Rima
